Chickadee’s – Young Two’s

“There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million”-Walt Streightiff

Joycelyn Hubbard Harris is excited about starting pre-school at OCP for the first time. Since graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Masters degree in school counseling, Joycelyn has worked with children from birth to 18 as a school counselor, special instructor with Babies Can’t Wait and as a special education paraprofessional. The cooperative model of education is one that she is excited to become a part of, due to its strong parent involvement and education component.

For many years, Joycelyn has worked with a variety of children and families and feels that the early years are the best because children are learning as they play, laugh and experience the wonders of daily life. The opportunity to support the Chickadees and their parents is an honor that she takes seriously. Ms. Joycelyn is looking forward to working with the young Two’s and their parents as they embark on their pre-school journey. Growing up an “Army Brat” has given Joycelyn a love and appreciation for the world that we live in and respect for all of its many cultures, creatures and things; this is something that she hopes to share with her families.

Joycelyn is an Army wife to Zuri, the mother of two boys, nine year old Quentin and eleven year old Amir, a Lab/Sheppard mix named Maxwell and Asher, a Mini Schnauzer. She enjoys reading, laughing, being waterside, spending time with family and friends and watching her children grow over a cup of Blue Mountain coffee.

“We are all citizens of the world and I am happy to serve as the Chickadee’s tour guide through year one of pre school!”-Ms. Joycelyn
