Directions to Candler Park

Candler Park has its own station (Candler Park/Edgewood Station) on DeKalb Avenue. Walk north (right) on Oakdale Road. Turn right on McLendon Ave to get to Candler Park.

From North Atlanta

Easier, longer route

Come down I-85 and exit on North Avenue. Turn left & drive (you will pass the Varsity, NationsBank, the Fox Theater, Rio, and eventually the Masquerade, keep going and pass Manuel’s Tavern at North Highland (on your right), go through one more light at Moreland Avenue. Go through two stop signs & turn right (dead end). Candler Park will be on your left. The park entrance is on McLendon Ave (left at the light).

Quicker Alternate route

I-85 to Carter Center exit. Cross Boulevard at the light and then bear right on GA 42 (you’ll be going through an open tunnel). Carter Center is on your left. Go straight until you dead end at Freedom Park on Moreland Ave. Turn right (this is L5P). You’ll turn left at Zesto’s which is the second light (you’ll pass the famous Vortex skull). This is McLendon Ave. Candler Park will be on your left right after the second light.

From South, East, or West Atlanta

Take I-20 to the Moreland Avenue exit & go north. You will pass a huge shopping development, home to Kroger, Target, Best Buy and Lowes.  Keep going through the tunnel under the railroad tracks to the next stoplight. You’re now in L5P. Turn right onto McLendon Avenue and you’re in Candler Park. This is McLendon Ave. Candler Park will be on your left right after the second light.

From Northeast Atlanta

Take Lawrenceville Hwy south and it will turn into Ponce de Leon. Keep going and turn right on Clifton. (Druid Hills Golf Club and Fernbank will be on your left)  Turn left onto Clifton. Turn right at the light – this is McLendon Ave. The Flying Biscuit is your landmark. Candler Park will be north, on your right.
