Wrens – older twos

Michael Flood

Michael is excited to get the Wrens together for their first day of school!  Michael has been actively involved in tutoring, mentoring, and coaching preschool to elementary school children for many years.  In 2010, he was a parent in the Wrens’ classroom.  After relocating from Los Angeles, Michael was relieved to find a cooperative preschool for his daughter, Ruby. (Ruby is now a Lark!)  In Los Angeles, Michael was involved in a cooperative preschool as a parent with his son Owen, now 10 (5TH grade at FAVE).

Michael transitioned to teaching last year, and with the support of Betty (director) and his fellow staff members, was able to learn quickly.  This year he expects to keep learning from both the children and his fellow staff members.  Michael is grateful to be part of such a kid-focused community.

Tara Koski

Tara is excited and honored to return for her second year at Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool. She knows this is a fantastic opportunity to work in collaboration with the parents and children to create a learning environment based in warmth, creativity, and love. Becoming a teacher at OCP last year was a wonderful transition from being a stay at home mom. Tara lives in Oakhurst with her husband and their two beautiful kids, a girl of 11 and a boy of 8. Before her life as a mom, Tara’s passion was being an elementary school counselor, which she did for 8 years. She holds both a Master’s and Specialist in Education. Her work as a counselor was a creative blend of teaching, caring for, and encouraging the children and families at her schools. She plans on using the lessons learned as a teacher of the Chickadees last year, as a parent and as a former school counselor to promote a classroom of learning and love for her students. Tara is also passionate about teaching that engages all of our senses with an appreciation for diverse learning styles and personalities. She is thrilled to be on this journey of learning with the Wren family.
